Sony Interactive Entertainment has reportedly closed Dark Outlaw Games, a studio led by Call of Duty veteran Jason Blundell, just months after it was formed in March 2025, according to Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier.
The move adds to a turbulent period for Blundell. He previously co-founded Deviation Games, which had been working with Sony on a new project before shutting down in March 2024. Blundell had left that studio in September 2022, and by December 2023, reports indicated he had joined Sony.
According to ResetEra user J-Soul, who first shared the news before Bloomberg confirmed it, Dark Outlaw Games was still in the early stages of developing its first title. Details about how many employees were affected have not been made public.
